Voice Lessons with Dory Lorenz

Dory Lorenz is a professional Singer, Actress, Dancer and Voice Teacher with a BFA in Musical Theater from Boston Conservatory at Berklee. She is also a graduate of New York City’s top performing arts school, LaGuardia High School. Last year she taught at New Windsor Music Academy and was instrumental in them being voted Best Singing Classes in the Hudson Valley for 2023. She has worked with ages 7 through 70, teaching beginners professionals and everyone in between. She has studied with esteemed teachers such as Matt Farnsworth and Lisa Rochelle and grew up with a father who, as well as being a Juilliard Graduate, sang in the Metropolitan Opera for 25 years and is a voice teacher himself. She herself has performed at various esteemed venues such as 54 below and The MUNY. She is a lover of joyful movement, Central Park, and her cat Zeus.

My Approach

Dory believes in a collaborative and sensitive teaching approach to help students in creating a fun and unique toolbox of repeatable healthy vocal skills to give them the best chance for success by building their confidence and knowledge base. Students will learn to identify their unique strengths and areas for improvement and set specific goals based on these.
